centenaryyear of vande matram

PIYUSH A, MAKWANA

ROLL NO. 25

CENTENARY OF YEAR OF
VANDE MATRAM

For make compulsory singing of “Vande Mata ram”, few day ago it is latest news in INDIA to make Vande Mata ram compulsory. Some are agree with it and some are not. On 7th September “vande mataram” celebrate its 100 years. So government decide you make it compulsory in schools and colleges students to sing it compulsory.

First BJP makes compulsory in chhattisgarh, RSS and VHP are also agree with it. But some people from other religion who are Muslims they can not agree with it. The head of Muslims parisad they can’t agree with it. He says that this is not compulsory because who does not want sing it they can’t sing it. This suggestion is gives latest news in the world. So government decided to compulsory from 7th September 2006. when government make it compulsory, the head of Muslim parisad maulvi they announce that and take a decision that on 7th September 2006 who are Muslim thy cant brought their children in the schools. Muslims student can’t go in schools or colleges.

I see in one news paper that, in city kolkata and other states Muslim children and students came with Indian flag and sing a song “vande mataram”. They move around a city with flag. So some are agree and some are disagree with that.

But my suggestions is that, if the people did not want sing I, why they are live in India? Why they did not want to sing, if they live in this country? Government should have make strong rules about it for sing it compulsory and I salute the student of kolkatta who are Muslims but they sing a song “vande mataram”. I proud to students of kolkatta.

Vande matram was written in 1875 and published for the first time as part of bankim Chandra‘s novel anandmath in 1882. the surprising thing is that nothing relevant to the song happened on sept.7,1906,.the congress did not take any decision the about its national status for the simple reason that it always met in the last week of December.

Vande matram was certainly often used as a slogan or song in freedom struggle. two memorable instance are bhagat sigh and his commandoes threw a bomb in the central assemble in 1929 to protest an anti labour low raising the slogan ‘inquilab zindabad’

So ‘vande matram’ make a compulsory everywhere and from this slogan we get freedom from britisher.so I proud to be an Indian.

Difference between Poetry and Prose

· WHAT DO YOU THINK IS POETRY? HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM PROSE? THINK OF WAY POETRY CAN BE TAUGHT IN AN INTERESTING MANNER AT THE SECONDERY LEVEL. CHOOSE A POEM AND DEVELOPMENT ON IT TO TEACH SECONDERY LEVEL.

INTRODUCTION:-

Poetry to be the art of representing actions in meter. Poetry also the imitation of elegant nature. Poets are always used poem to represents their imagination for the nature. The poet also used poem to representing his love. All the object of the world is truly representing by the poem .Poetry is an art. so, in this assignment we describes that what is poetry? And how it different from prose.

WHAT IS POETRY?

There are as many definitions of poetry as there are poets.wordsworth define poetry as “ the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings “.Emily Dickinson said, “if I read a book and it makes my body so cold no fire ever can warm me, I know that is poetry”. And Dylan Thomas defined poetry this way: “poetry is what makes me laugh or cry or yawn, what makes my toenails twinkle, what makes me want to do this or that or nothing.”

Poetry is a lot of things to a lot of people. Homers epic the Odyssey, described the wandering the adventure, Odysseus, and has been called the greatest story ever told. During the English renaissance, dramatic poet like john Milton, Christopher Marlowe, and of course Shakespeare gave us enough to fill textbook lecture, halls and universities
.
Poems from the romantic period include Goethe’s Faust (1808) Coleridge’s ‘kubla khan’ and john keat’s ‘ode a Grecian urn’ shall I go on? because in order to do so, I would have to continue though 19th century Japanese poetry , early American that include Emily Dickinson and T.S. Eliot postmodernism ,experimentalists slam so what is poetry?perheps the characteristics most central to the definition of poetry is its unwillingness to be defined labeled or nailed down . But let’s not let that stop us, shall we? its about time someone wrestled poetry to the ground and slapped a sigh on its back reading I’m poetry, kick me here ‘poem is the chiseled marble of language it’s a paint-spattered canvas but the poet uses words instead of paint, and the canvas is you poetic definition of poetry kind of spiral in on themselves, however like a dog eating itself from the tail up lets get nitty. Let’s in fact get gritty. I believe we can render an accessible definition of poetry by simply looking at it’s from and its purpose. one of the most definable characteristics of the poetic from is economy of language .poets are miserly and unrelentingly critical in the way they dole out words to a page carefully selecting words for consciousness and clarity is standard even for writers of prose, but poets go well beyond these considering a words emotive qualities, its musical value, its spacing and yes even its special relationship to the page the poet through innovation in both word choice and from seemingly rends significant from thin air .

How I am doing so far on to propose: one may use prose to narrate describes, argue or define there are equally numborous reasons for writing poetry. But poetry unlike prose often jags an under lying and over arching purpose that goes beyond the literal. Poetry is evocative. It typically evokes in the reader an intense emotion: joy. Sorrow, anger, catharsis, love.

Alternatively poetry has the ability to surprise the reader with an ah ha! Poetry is artistically rendering words in such a way as to evoke intense emotion or an ah ha! Experience from the reader. Poetry is stronger than you think. Poetry is imagination and will break those chains faster than you can say “Harlem renaissance.”

Poetry is riddle wrapped in an enigma swathed in cardigan sweeter or something like that. It doesn’t like your definitions and will shirk them at every turn.

Conclusion:-

So poetry written in English language has a long and a fascinating history .like other creative art poetry began in service to communities. its function was to add the memory and enshrine in its rhythmic diction the history of tribe .over the centuries it become a way in which people could communicate not only stories but also ideas and emotions in an imaginative and expressive way .

how is it different from prose?

introduction

What is poetry? What is prose? Is there a difference? In a book written in 1883 we read, “A true port will never confound verse and prose….”the person who wrote that was a poet. If you writer poetry. You will know the difference between poetry and prose. But how many folks know this? Let’s explore some of the differences between poetry and prose.

I am sure the first thing you would say is that poetry has a different form from prose prose said Noah Webster is the natural language of man He further stated that prose id loose and unconfined to poetic measures as opposed to verse or metrical compositions.

The different between poetry and prose is to my mind is one of communication not so much what is communicated. But how.

In prose, the main medium of communication is the content the structure is there mostly to help the reader understand the content better. You use words with relatively concrete meanings which your audience is expected to know and you fit them in to a grammatical structure your audience is familiar with. This heightens the ease of communication and removes unnecessary ambiguity. The rules allow you to write what you mean and what you write if you do a good job your reader will know exactly what you are trying to say. Prose is a representation of your conscious thoughts altered to a form other people can more easily understand. I lied prose I use prose, I thind everyone should use prese if at all possible. I recognize however that some things can not.

In poetry the structure has some purpose other then to clarify the content. At the very least poems use structure to make the content more appealing or attractive but this only touches upon the true potential of poetry.

Prose is great; it allows you to pout your thought in nice litter boxes for easy transport. Unfortunately all thought do not fit in nice little box; language is of times a poor tool at best to express the whole of human experience. The structure which prose follows is designed for clarity not depth or breadth. By play around with the rules of language one can enhance the scop of communication though at the likely sacrifice of ease of understanding.

Some poetry is more structured then prose this additional structured forces the author to be more creative to find ways of saying things which do not disrupt the flow further the structure probides a path for the reader of follow out side the flow of the story a good poet can achieve interesting flow of the content off the flow of the structure other poetry has less structure then prose without the clues which grallar usually provides, a poem becomes a much more ambiguous thing. A good poem is really many poems depending on how it’s read.

Some differences between poetry and prose

Poetry stops before the end of the margin

You can talk about prose without prose without mentioning school

You don’t read poetry to get from Glasgow to saltcoats without noticing

You can call a poem what you want and say its poetic licence

Poetry is the subliminal history of in linguistic shaep

Poetry has four wheels two wings and a pair of false teeth

Poetry is the heart and the brain divided by the lungs

Poetry is the world’s oldest cock and fanny story

You don’t get prose in anapestic diameters

Nobody publishes their first slim volume of prose

Prose is printed in a particular way .It has a clear expression of thought while poetry has rhyme, rhythm and attention.

Poetry is smaller than prose in size moreover poetry is more difficult to understand than prose.

According to Coleridge prose is words in their best form and poetry is the best words in the best form.

According to words Wordsworth “poetry is spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings recollected in tranquility.
Poetry is written with the help of emotion from the elpth of tender heart.
While prose is not spontaneous overflow of powerful feeling.
It is written with the help of intellect so the different is very clear that one comes out from the tenderness of heart and another one comes out from the intellect.

· Word- order: the word order is another difference of them .in poetry the word order is difficult than prose. In prose the word are in order of sequence while in poetry the poets are free to arrange them in orderly.
The following two passage would show the difference that one is prose and another is the form of poetry .the words are similar and meanings are also same but when we read them we can find the difference of sound .

Prose : the untrodden show lay all bloodless on Linder, when the sun was low and flow of iser rolling rapidly was dark as winter .

Poetry: on linders when sun was low all bloodless laid the untrodden show and dark as winter was the flow of iser rolling rapidly.

· Language: the language of poetry is difficult and words which used poetry are not everyday used words that it is difficult to understand .moreover; poetry does not follow grammatical rules too.
Where as prose follow grammatical rules and daily word are used in prose

· Poetry express lots of things in short time and place .while prose is descriptive or long narrative.

· Most important difference between prose and poetry is that prose is written in paragraph where as poetry is written in stanza form.

“THE POEM”

‘THE LITTLE PLANT’

In the heart of a seed
Buried deep, so deep,
A dear little plant
Lay fast asleep.

‘Wake’, said the sunshine
‘and creeo to the light ‘.
‘wake said the voice
Of the raindrop bright.

The little plant heard
And it rose to see
What the wonderful
Outside world might be.

- K. L. BROWN.
